Obituary for Donna Marie Wessels
DONNA MARIE WESSELS, 91, of Clinton, IA, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Jongsma , interim pastor of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton. A memorial has been established.
Donna was born January 23, 1932, in Clinton, IA, to Henry M. and Marie L. (Thielen) Drews. She was educated in the Clinton School System. She married Norman L. Wessels on August 4, 1951, in Fulton, IL. He died July 19, 2013. She was first employed as a nurse’s aide at the former Wyndcrest Nursing Home in Clinton, IA and later as a dietary aide at the Clinton Retirement Village. She was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, IL. Donna enjoyed fishing, bird watching and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She was a wife, mother and a homemaker. Donna cherished the time she spent with her family and she adored her pets.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynn (Randy) Cosman of Toddville, IA and Dawn Goodridge of Clinton, IA; one son, Scott (Lois Spalding) Wessels of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren, Angela (Larry) Biles, Shaun (Amy) Willits, Jeremy (Julia) Wessels, Katy (Luie) Ugarte, Joshua Dolph and Kimberly (Adam Mueller) Wessels; ten great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Fran Wessels of Phoenix, AZ’ beloved cat, Tiger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman; one son, Loren Wessels; one granddaughter, Amy Lynn Willits; one sister, in infancy; one brother, Verne Drews.
