Obituary for Donna Mae Jones
DONNA MAE JONES, 76, of Prophetstown, IL, died Friday, August 19, 2022 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown, with retired Pastor, Rev. Jim Jensen officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 23rd at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown. Following the funeral service cremation rites will be accorded; interment will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. A memorial has been established by the family.
Donna was born October 11, 1945, to Kenneth E. and Pauline M. (Massey) Glazier. She was a 1963 graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. On November 9, 1963 she married Richard L. “Dick” Jones in Morrison, IL. Donna worked in the bakery of Walker’s Grocery Store and also the Sherwood Forest Christmas Tree Farm. She retired from Volkmann Furniture Factory in Morrison. Along with her many jobs, Donna was also a full-time mother. Donna enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, playing slot machines and singing Karaoke. She taught Sunday school and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grand and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; two daughters, Paula Eubanks of Margate, FL and Julie Russell of Prophetstown, IL; five grandchildren, Dwayne (Nichole) Eubanks, Dustin (Cynthia) Eubanks, Dillon Eubanks, Skyler (Kirsti) Russell and Carson Russell; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Les Glazier of Erie, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rusty Jones; one sister, Karen Shrum; two brothers, Alvin “Alvie” Glazier and Richard Glazier.
