Obituary for Donald L. Shepard
DONALD L. SHEPARD, 66, of 4333 Ward Road, Fulton, IL, died at his home on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, after a long, courageous battle with illness. Don was born May 22, 1942, to Fred and Goldie (Williams) Shepard in Morrison, IL. He was educated in the Morrison grade schools and he attended Morrison High School. He married Cherie L. Stunden on Jan. 10, 1976 in Fulton. Don had been employed as a foreman at Climax Foundries in Clinton, IA. His most recent employment was with Alcoa, in Bettendorf, IA, where he retired in 2002 after 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, and going to the Casino. He had a special bond with his beloved dog, Madgie. Survivors include his wife, Cherie; five daughters, Kellie Frederick of Clinton, IA, Lori Smith of Morrison, IL, Krista (Dave) Gibson of Clinton, IA, Patricia Brown of Clinton, IA and Cherie Hernandez of Clinton, IA; one son, Keith Shepard of Polo, IL; twenty-one grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Kohl and Penny Burridge, both of Fulton, and Sally Mitchell of Chicago; one brother, Robert (Beverly) Shepard, of Fulton, IL; his beloved dog, Madgie. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rose Marie McCreery; two brothers, Jack Shepard and one other in infancy.
