Obituary for Donald L. Huizenga
DONALD L. HUIZENGA, 87, of Four Seasons Living Center, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the center. Don was born September 22, 1923 in Fulton, IL, to Peter D. and Anna (Bielema) Huizenga. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. Don married Clausina Vegter on October 28, 1943 in Morrison, IL. He engaged in farming in rural Whiteside County for 35 years. He then was employed by Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL for 10 years until retirement. Following retirement, he was employed as a limousine driver for R.C. Smith Transportation in Morrison. Don was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. Survivors include his wife, Clausina; three daughters, Janice (Robert) Wiersema of Morrison, IL, Carol (Doug) Wage of The Woodlands, TX, and Ann (Tim Betts) Huizenga of Wheaton, IL; one son, Roger Huizenga of Reno, NV; eight grandchildren, Keith (Susan) Wiersema, Kent (Amy) Wiersema, Kelly (Dan) Timmons, Joel (Carrie) Wage, Sara (Jason) Sherman, Luke (Erin) Shank, Clint (Jessica) Shank, and Cheyne Huizenga; eighteen great grandchildren; one sister, Kathryn (Robert) Doescher of Fulton, IL and one brother, Paul Huizenga of Fulton, IL. He was preceded in death by one brother, John Maynard in infancy.
