Obituary for Diane J. Dornbush
DIANE J. DORNBUSH, 84, of Fulton, IL, died Thursday, October 22, 2020, at MercyOne Clinton in Clinton, IA.
A public funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clinton preceded by a public visitation from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service at the church. Rev. Clark Olson-Smith will officiate the service. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL. A memorial has been established to the Albany Ambulance.
Diane was born June 9, 1936, in Clinton, IA, to Robert and Mattie (Morhman) Lauritzen. She was educated in the Clinton, IA, grade schools and was a 1954 graduate of Clinton High School. Diane married Vernon J. Dornbush on June 15, 1956, in Clinton, IA. She was employed in the kitchen at the former Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton and at Burpee Seeds in Clinton. She also helped in the kitchen at the Albany Grade School in Albany, IL, and farmed alongside her husband, Vernon. Diane was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clinton and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at the Albany American Legion. She enjoyed picture puzzles, gardening, and cooking. Diane volunteered at the Albany Public Library for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon; one daughter, Lisa Schaver of Fulton, IL; one son, Robert J. (Cindy Henning) Dornbush of Muscatine, IA; seven grandchildren, Kyle (Tiffany) Schaver, Logan (Paige Portz) Schaver, Brady (Erin Gerdes) Schaver, Jason Dornbush, Justin (Jennifer) Dornbush, Jacob (Kelsie) Dornbush, and Gage Dornbush; twelve great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Jean Lauritzen of Clinton, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jack Lauritzen, Robert Lauritzen in infancy; and Donald Lauritzen.
