Obituary for Dennis G. Hook
DENNIS G. HOOK, 62, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Ken Renkes officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial has been established.
Dennis was born May 9, 1960, in Morrison, IL, to Isaac “Ike” and Lucille R. (Habben) Hook. He was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a 1978 graduate of Morrison High School. Dennis married Linda C. Jacobs on May 11, 1985, in Clinton, IA. He was first employed by Thomas and Betts in Clinton, IA and later employed by Elkay in Savanna until his retirement in 2022. He was an avid woodworker. Dennis, along with his wife, Linda, and daughters and sons-in-law, ran DL Family Woodshop in Morrison. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two daughters, Ashley (Michael) Benson of Morrison, IL and Rachel (Nicholas) Twait of Morris, IL; five grandchildren, Kinslea, Emersyn, and Scarlett Benson and Henry and Emma Twait; one sister, Patricia Taylor of Davenport, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sherry Schwartz; two brothers in infancy; one brother-in-law, Bill Taylor.
