DELORES KAY RUS, 82, of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, April 7, 2024, at her home.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Huckaby, pastor at First Reformed Church in Fulton, officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established to Fulton Reformed Church.
Delores was born December 15, 1941, in Clinton, IA, to Clarence J. and Adeline (Dornbush) Rus. She was educated in the Albany Grade School and was a 1959 graduate of Fulton High School. Delores began her professional career with Sears and Roebuck in Clinton, IA, later working at Zirkelbach Refrigeration, also in Clinton. Most recently, she dedicated 15 years of service to the former Fulton Press, Inc. before retiring in 2002. She was a former member and Sunday School teacher at Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton and a current member of First Reformed Church. Delores found joy in reading and watching good movies. She enjoyed feeding the birds and watching the various wildlife (turkeys, racoons, fox, squirrels and deer) in the backyard. She loved spending time with friends and relatives, especially her friend and caregiver, Cindy Abbott. She enjoyed dining out at various restaurants, including her favorite Rastrelli’s. Delores was a kind and generous person. She was small in stature but large in character and integrity. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include several cousins; best friend, Marilyn Williams; friend and caregiver, Cindy Abbott.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Doris F. Rus.
