Obituary for David William Schmidt
DAVID WILLIAM SCHMIDT, 37, of 850 1st Avenue, #54, Clinton, IA, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center West, Rock Island, IL as a result of a motor vehicle accident. David was born March 25, 1970 in Mason City, IA, to Gary L. and Dian (Puckett) Schmidt. He was educated in the Clinton grade schools and attended Clinton High School in Clinton, IA. He married Melody Ruggles on July 17, 2000 in Clinton, IA. David was employed at Stampede Products in Camanche, IA and was a member of the Ironworkers Local #111 in Rock Island. He was a fan of Jeff Gordon and NASCAR and he loved fishing. Survivors include his wife, Melody Schmidt of Marshalltown, IA; one daughter, Courtney Goldensoph of Clinton, IA; one stepdaughter, Amber Baker of Des Moines, IA; two stepsons, Chad Baker of State Center, IA and Robbie Baker of Anamosa, IA; his parents, Gary and Dian Schmidt of Morrison, IL; two sisters, Bobbie (Mrs. Jared) Harder of Clinton, IA and Joyce (Mrs. Jim) Barsema of Morrison, IL; two brothers, Gary A. (Loretta) Schmidt and Kevin L. (Tammy) Schmidt both of Clinton, IA; three step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Florence Schmidt and Jasper and Gertrude Smith.
