Obituary for David M. Atherton
DAVID M. ATHERTON, 44, of 216 " 19th Place, Clinton, IA died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at his home. David was born on October 31, 1964 in Morrison, IL to Larry and Joan (Titus) Atherton. He attended Thomson grade schools and graduated from Thomson High School in 1983. David had Advanced Individual Training in Maryland while serving for 8 years in the U.S. Army Reserves in Freeport, IL. He has worked in various trades in the Clinton, IA area. David had a big heart for children and animals. He dearly loved his cats Susie Q and Jenny. He took pride in his gardening and cooking skills and had great compassion for others. David was always quick to lend a hand. Survivors include his parents, Larry and Joan Atherton of Thomson, IL; one sister, Lori (John) Crippen of Colona, IL; one brother, Dan (Tina) Atherton of Chillicothe, IL; three nieces, Stephanie, Rachel and Blair; one nephew, Andrew; and many aunts, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Helen Titus; and his paternal grandparents, Merle and Ihla Atherton.
