DARLA A. WIEBENGA, 44, of 923 9th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA. Darla was born August 26, 1966, in Clinton, IA, to Harvey and Joan (Meurs) Wiebenga. She was educated in the Unity Christian Grade School in Fulton, and was a graduate of Fulton High School. Darla was employed as an Emergency Medical Technician for the Fulton Ambulance Service from 1986 " 1988, and again in 1997. She also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and security worker in the Chicago, IL, Dubuque and Des Moines, IA areas. She also was an Emergency Medical Technician for the Wayne County Hospital in Osceola, IA. Currently she was employed by the Hanover Ambulance Service in Hanover, IL. Darla was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton and was an active volunteer in the church"s Children"s Story Time. She was also a member of the American Red Cross " Gateway Chapter. Darla was a NASCAR fan. She was an organ and tissue donor through the Iowa Donor Network. Survivors include her father, Harvey Wiebenga of Fulton; mother, Joan Wiebenga of Fulton; two brothers, Dalbert (Bette) Wiebenga of Morrison, IL and Dean (Jennifer) Wiebenga of West Dundee, IL; one niece, Gwyneth Wiebenga; four nephews, Steven (Sarah) Wiebenga, Kevin Wiebenga, Nolan Wiebenga and Gage Wiebenga; a special friend, Tom Melton of Lacrosse, WI. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
