Obituary for Dan Orlando Scott
DAN ORLANDO "Doobie Dan" SCOTT, 64, of Lyndon, IL, died Friday August 10, 2018 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Lyndon Township Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday August 17th, at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown, IL. A memorial has been established by the family.
Dan was born November 29, 1953, in Dixon, IL, to William E. and Darlene M. (Maronde) Deets Scott. He attended Lyndon Township schools. He received certification as a HVAC technician in Oxford. On March 25, 1978 he married Cynthia K. Wallis in Rockford, IL. They later divorced. Dan was a member of the Electrical Union Local 364 IBEW for 25 years. He was a machinist for Bill Wallis at Globe Precision Machining in Rockford, IL. Dan was also a professional musician. Dan enjoyed playing rock and roll music and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved and supported the local music scene.
Survivors include his father, William E. Scott of Sterling, IL; one daughter, Shondra K. Scott of South Beloit, IL; one son, Daniel (Tina Radke) Scott of Rockton, IL; his beloved dog, Rascal Scott; a long-time girlfriend, Cindy Pro of Lyndon, IL; granddaughter, DaShania Scott; “grand dog”, Petey Scott; one sister, Dallas Spencer of Lyndon, IL; one brother, William “Butch” Scott of Rock Falls, IL.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
