Obituary for Dale F. Turney
DALE F. TURNEY, 77, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday February 1, 2020 at Resthave Home in Morrison.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Rev. Marv Jacobs, Interim Pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Thursday, February 6th at the funeral home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial has been established by the family.
Dale was born October 20, 1942, in Clinton, IA, to Fred and Johanna (Brands) Turney. He was educated in the Fulton, IL grade schools and was a 1961 graduate of Fulton High School. On April 21, 1967 he married Judith K. Wiebenga in Sterling, IL. Dale was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and especially doing yard work. His greatest joy in life was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; one daughter, Michele (Barry) Brown of Morrison; two grandchildren, Tyler (Audrey) Brown and Stephanie Brown; four great grandchildren, Emmalyn, Brooklyn, Ethan and Ryan Brown; two sisters, Marcia (Charlie) Carter of Fulton, IL and Sharon (Chuck) Wade of Arvada, CO; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Steven Lee Turney, in infancy.
