Obituary for Coralie Cork Scott
CORALIE CORK A. SCOTT, 70, of 310 Tree Lane, Prophetstown, IL, died Monday, March 30, 2009 at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL.Coralie was born March 10, 1939 in Morrison, IL,to Louis and Fern (Davis) Weburg. She was educated in the Prophetstown grade schoools and graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1957. She also attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. Cork married Marvin K. Scott on June 22, 1962 in Prophetstown. She taught in the Green School in Lyndon, IL and in the McCallister Grade School in Morrison. Cork later was a substitute teacher for K-12 in the Prophetstown School District and also coached volleyball in the Prophetstown High School. She also taught piano lessons. Cork was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Prophetstown, where she was the choir director, organist, and had taught preschool for 5 years. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Prophet Hills Country Club, where she was the womens club champion for 35 years and had two holes in one. Her two passions in life were golf and music. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.Survivors include her husband, Marvin; two daughters, Beth (Wesley) Grau of Gurnee, IL and Joanne (Tom) Baird of South Elgin, IL; one son, David (Debra) Scott of Sterling, IL; seven grandchildren, Jessica Grau, Brandon Scott, Jacqueline Grau, Zachary Baird, Jaci Grau, Noah Scott, and Leah Scott; one step granddaughter, Kasey Yonk; two nieces, Paula Olson and Becky Cassidy.She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ronald Weburg.
