Obituary for Clarence J. Rus
CLARENCE J. RUS, 94, of 202 S. Park Avenue, Albany, IL, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton, IA. Clarence was born October 31, 1915, in Fulton, IL, to Ren and Nellie (Klimstra) Rus. He was educated in the Mt. Hope School of rural Whiteside County. He married Adeline Dornbush on October 17, 1939 in Pella, IA. She died April 18, 2007. Clarence was employed by the former Dornbush Hardware Store in Albany, IL. He then founded and operated, along with his late brother, LeRoy, Rus Brothers LP Gas of Fulton, retiring in 1989. Clarence was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton and served as deacon, elder and Sunday school treasurer. During his lifetime he enjoyed at various times fishing, bowling and golfing. Survivors include two daughters, Delores and Doris Rus both of Albany, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline; two brothers, Ray W. Rus and LeRoy Rus; one sister, Edna Tegeler.
