Obituary for Christopher Lee Handel
CHRISTOPHER “CHRIS” LEE HANDEL, 43, of Savanna, IL, died Friday, October 16, 2020, at MercyOne in Clinton, IA.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. There will be no services. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family. A memorial has been established by the family.
Chris was born September 9, 1977, in Houston, TX, to Francis Alonzo and Katherina Maria (Close) Handel. He was a graduate of Savanna High School and attended Southern Illinois University. He married Mandy Marzofka in 2003 in Savanna and they later divorced. Chris worked at Upholstery Unlimited in Clinton, IA. He also owned his own business installing remote starters and stereos in vehicles. Chris enjoyed going to concerts and watching bands. He loved anything that had to do with cars, going to car shows, and midnight mayhem in Cordova, IL.
Survivors include one daughter, Caliegh Jo Handel of Sabula, IA; his mother, Kathy Handel of Savanna, IL; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his father, Francis, and one sister, Heidi Jo Handel.
