Obituary for Christine Renkes-Specht
CHRISTINE RENKES-SPECHT, 98, of 503 Jenkran, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at her home. Christine was born October 24, 1914, in Fulton, IL, to Dick and Jennie (Balk) Bielema. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. She married Gerald D. "Jerry" Renkes on June 30, 1934, in Morrison, IL. He died January 27, 1988. She married Gould Specht on June 3, 1989, in Morrison, IL. He died December 27, 2000. Christine was employed by the former Buikema-Blass Clothing Store in Morrison, IL, and later worked as a cook at the Morrison High School. She was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church and the Morrison Lioness Club. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Renkes of Morrison, IL; one son, Arlyn (Linda) Renkes of Fredericksburg, VA; six grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands, Gerald Renkes and Gould Specht; one step daughter, Nova Klingbeil; and one brother, Paul Bielema.
