Obituary for Carol J. Bielema
CAROL J. BIELEMA, 72, of 2529 IL Route 84, Thomson, IL, died Thursday, October 27, 2005 at her home. Carol was born July 13, 1933 in Milledgeville, IL to Fred L. and Wilma C. (Wade) Miller. She was educated in the rural Carroll County grade schools and was a 1952 graduate of York Community High School in Thomson. She married Merle J. Bielema on June 9, 1956 in Thomson. Carol had worked for the Savanna Savings, Building & Loan and also at the Thomson State Bank as a teller. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, IL and belonged to the church"s Rebecca Society and choir. She was a member of the Carroll County Home Extension Group; the Thomson Women"s Club; was a past President and life-time member of the Thomson PTA; the Tuesday Afternoon Bowling League at Fulton Lanes. She enjoyed camping, flower gardening and bird watching, as well as following her grandchildren"s activities. Survivors include her husband, Merle; two daughters, Brenda (Mrs. Randy) Atherton of Thomson, IL and Beth (Mrs. Joe) Caven of Clinton, IA; one son, Bruce (Lori) Bielema of Thomson, IL; seven grandchildren, Erin, April, Audrey and Evan Atherton; Annette, Brooke and Courtney Bielema; one great granddaughter, Graicie; three sisters, Mrs. Iris Eye, Mrs. Janice Brunner and Phyllis (Mrs. Gene) Halfman, all of Thomson, IL; two brothers, Ivan (Barb) Miller of Milledgeville, IL and Richard (Karen) Miller of Thomson, IL; many nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Wilma Huizenga of Fulton, IL; one brother-in-law, Henry Bielema of Fulton, IL.
