CAMILLA A. NAFTZGER, 86, of Bickford in Clinton, IA, formerly of Erie, IL, died Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at The Alverno in Clinton, IA.
Her funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Albany, IL, with Rev. Father Timothy Barr, pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church, officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Albany. Interment will be at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Fulton, IL. A memorial has been established.
Camilla was born February 19, 1937, in Clinton County, IA, to William and Gertrude (Feldpausch) Green. She was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Dewitt, IA and furthered her education at St. Anthony’s School of Nursing in Rock Island, IL, graduating in 1957. Camilla married W. Rolland Naftzger on September 19, 1959, in Grand Mound, IA. He died May 18, 1993. Camilla worked at Dewitt Community Hospital, where she served as a nurse before joining her husband on the farm. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church since 1959, where she dedicated over 40 years to teaching Sunday School. Her commitment extended to various community organizations, including the Whiteside County Farm Bureau and the Christian Women's Club. Camilla found joy in gardening and sewing. In her youth, she liked spending her time raising and riding horses. Camilla cherished spending time with her grandchildren and watching them in their various activities, and she took great pride in hosting all the family dinners during the holidays.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Joe) Naftzger-Kang of Wilmette, IL and Christine (Bill) Berge of Port Byron, IL; three sons, Kevin Naftzger of Albany, IL, Steve (Susan) Naftzger of Erie, IL and Keith Naftzger of Albany IL; eleven grandchildren, Kelly Kang, Jennifer Kang, Amber (Eric) Hamer, Jayson (Kelsey) Berge, Lindsey (Allen) Pratt, Brooke Naftzger, Tyler Naftzger, Sara (Kevin) Dunne, Trisha (Dylan) Kling, Calvin (Maeve) Naftzger and Michelle Naftzger; one great-granddaughter, Maeve Hamer; her Bickford family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W. Rolland; one son, Alan R. Naftzger; one brother, Ronald Green.
