Obituary for Brian W. Dolieslager

BRIAN W. DOLIESLAGER, 67, of Lyndon, IL, died Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.


There will be no visitation or memorial service. Cremation rites have been accorded, and interment will take place at Lyndon Cemetery.


Brian was born December 16, 1957, in Kewanee, IL, to Laverne A. and Marie (Heinrich) Dolieslager. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School in Kewanee before moving to Prophetstown in 1970. He continued his education at Lyndon Junior High and graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1976. During his school years, Brian was a standout athlete, participating in football, basketball, wrestling, and track, where he set records in the relay and high jump. He later began a new chapter of his life when he moved to Lyndon. On October 13, 2000, he married Marilyn J. (Nice) Dodd in Morrison, IL. They shared their lives for over 23 years until her passing on March 24, 2024. Brian worked at Micro Gear, later known as American Gear, before co-founding C & D Machining with Keith Crady. An avid Chicago Bears fan, Brian also enjoyed bowling, hunting, and spending time outdoors. His greatest joy was fishing, especially with his wife, Marilyn.


Survivors include his daughters, Shannon Dolieslager of Pearl City, IL, Brianne (Luke) Hoy of Thomson, IL, Jodi (Mike) Meier of Prophetstown, IL and Kasie (Laramie Wall) Dodd of Iowa City, IA; ten grandchildren, Cameron Dolieslager, Morgann Britton, Rylee and Ashlyn Hoy, Yvette (Kaleb) Catron, Evan Camper, Emma Camper, Kenley Meier, Izzy and Oli Wall; three great-grandchildren, Miya Dolieslager, Nora and Ezra Catron; one sister, Debra (Jerry) Francis of Lyndon, IL; many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; one sister, Pam Mansnerus; one brother, Greg Dolieslager.
