Obituary for Billie Jean Carroll-Gonzaque
BILLIE JEAN CARROLL-GONZAQUE, 73, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Thorek Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Billie Jean was born February 20, 1938, in Straight Creek, KY, to William and Mossie Mable (Holt) Carroll. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and attended Morrison High School. Later, while in Chicago, Billie Jean return to school and received a degree to work in social services. She was previously married to James F. Scalf in Fulton, IL. She later married Freddy Gonzaque in Chicago. Billie Jean was employed by Swifts in Clinton, IA, General Electric in Morrison, IL and a golf club factory in Chicago. She was then employed by a social service office in Chicago. Billie Jean loved to fish and was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy (Jimmie) Barsema of Fulton, IL; one son, Lloyd Wayne Scalf of Fulton, IL; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Betty Hathaway of Savanna, IL; two brothers, Willis (Selena) Carroll and Ernie (Vickie) Carroll, both of Morrison, IL; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Penny S. Graham; one great granddaughter, Taylor Belle Pfohl; one brother, in infancy, Jack Carroll.
