Obituary for Betty Jane Marshall
BETTY JANE MARSHALL, 85, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL, died Monday, January 20, 2014 at the nursing home. Betty was born April 29, 1928, to John B. and Mabel (Terry) Fredericks. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and attended Morrison High School in Morrison, IL. Betty married Norman H. Marshall on November 15, 1947 in Morrison. He died July 27, 2002. Betty farmed along with her husband, Norman, in the rural Morrison area. Most recently she was employed by General Electric in Morrison for 25 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison, the GEM Club, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles - Aerie #705, Clinton, IA. Betty enjoyed camping, fishing & flower gardening. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Reed of Morrison, IL and Cheryl (Robert) Corzatt of Oquawka, IL; two grandchildren, Tammi Morthland and Todd Morthland; two great grandchildren, Addison Huizenga and Connor Morthland; two sisters, Loretta Schipper of Morrison, IL and Dorothy Zimmerman of Dixon, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; one daughter, Sandra J. Marshall; one brother, Harold Fredericks.
