Obituary for Bernice Kuykendall
BERNIECE KUYKENDALL, 98, of Bluff Terrace Nursing Home, Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Thursday, December 8, 2005 at the nursing home. Berniece was born may 30, 1907, in Pisgah, IA, to John and Bertha (Small) Erway. She was educated in the Modale, IA school system, graduating from high school. She received training at the Creighton / St. Joseph"s Hospitals School of Nursing in Omaha, NE, graduating in 1930. She married Charles G. Kuykendall on Jan. 10, 1932 in Omaha, NE. Berniece worked in hospitals in the Hammond and Gary, IN area from the mid 1950"s through the mid 1960"s. She had been a resident of Fulton, IL for 24 years. She was a member of the Fulton Presbyterian Church in Fulton, and a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She loved cooking and knitting. Survivors include her son, Paul (Jane) Kuykendall of Fulton, IL and two nieces of Belleview, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister, Bonnie, in infancy; three brothers, John Benjamin and Max Erway.
