Obituary for Berneice May Bound
BERNEICE MAY BOUND, 94, of Prophetstown, IL, died Thursday, February 1, 2024, at her home.
Her graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown, IL. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Bosma- Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown, IL. A memorial has been established.
Berneice was born July 3, 1929, in East Patterson, New Jersey, to Walter and Dorothy (Hall) Nelson. She was educated in the Kewanee School System. She married Richard E. Bound on June 27, 1964 in Kewanee, IL. He died October 27, 1991. Berneice devoted her days to raising her children, and she found immeasurable joy in the time spent with her beloved grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Tammy (Tim) Shaner of Lyndon, IL; one son, Richard Bound of Prophetstown, IL; three grandchildren, Trevor (Tari) Shaner, Brandon Shaner and Cody Shaner; one sister, Sue Mendez of Kewanee, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; one sister, Pearl Nelson; five brothers, Harry, Marion, Jack, Fred, and Fritz Nelson.
