Obituary for Barb A. Wright
BARB A. WRIGHT, 72, of Fulton, IL, died Thursday, December 2, 2021, at MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton, IA.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Her memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Unity Christian School in Fulton, with Rev. Kevin VerHoeven officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. A memorial to Unity Christian School Building Fund has been established.
Barb was born May 15, 1949, in Creston, IA, to Billy E. and Mary Lou (Phillips) Youmans. She graduated from Dewitt Central High School and later attended Clinton Community College. She married Richard “Rick” Shaw Wright on December 21, 1968 in Fulton. He died on September 28, 2021. In her earlier years, Barb worked at Schunters in DeWitt, along with Tasty Mates in Fulton and the movie theater in DeWitt. She then worked for Unity Christian Schools in Fulton for over forty years. She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Barb loved watching movies and cherished her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Daniel (Tonya) Wright of Champaign, IL, William (Njeri) Wright of Naples, FL and David (Shannon) Wright of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren, CariLynn Wright, Jacob Wright, Jonas Wright, Bridget Wright, Daphne Wright, and Malcolm Wright; three sisters, Susan Miller of DeWitt; Lorie (Terry) Rathje of Long Grove, IA; Cindy (Dan) Millett of Waterloo, IA; two brothers, Steven (Connie) Youmans of DeWitt and Mark (Lora) Youmans of Delmar, IA; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rick; two grandchildren, Angelique Wright and Juliana Wright.
