Obituary for Arnold D. "Arky" Wiebenga
ARNOLD D. “ARKY” WIEBENGA, 76, of Fulton, IL, died Monday, January 8, 2018, at Windsor Manor in Morrison, IL.

The funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Stephan, pastor of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL. Memorials to Second Reformed Church and Alzheimer’s Association have been established.

Arky was born February 18, 1941, in Clinton, IA, to Claude A. and Minnie A. (Bielema) Wiebenga. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a 1959 graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. Arky married Sally Dornbush on August 26, 1959, in Albany, IL. He was first employed by Service Soft/Culligan Water Conditioning in Clinton, IA. He later worked for Sethness Products in Clinton, retiring in 2003. Following retirement, he worked as a self-employed painter. Arky was a member of the Second Reformed Church in Fulton, IL and the church’s Men’s Brotherhood. He also served as deacon and elder. Arky served as a Little League Baseball coach and more recently was an active volunteer with the Fulton Food Pantry. He enjoyed bowling, collecting toy tractors, gardening, and yardwork. He considered himself a “farmer” in many respects.

Survivors include his wife, Sally; two daughters, Dawn (Dean) Petrie of Galesburg, IL and Susan (Joel) Quiram of Princeton, IL; one son, Terry Wiebenga of Normal, IL; five grandsons, Cole and Cade Petrie; Blake Quiram; Adam and Caleb Augspurger; one sister, Janice (Howard) VanZuiden of Fulton, IL; two brothers, Robert (Darlene) Wiebenga and Harlan (Betty) Wiebenga both of Fulton, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
