Obituary for Arlene Onalee Teal
ARLENE ONALEE TEAL, 87, of Mercy Living Center North, Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Friday, May 30, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Arlene was born May 22, 1927, in Cashton, WI, to Fred and Grace (Robinson) Dickau. Her parental home was with William and Ella Dickau. She was educated in the rural Ontario, WI, grade schools and was a graduate of Ontario High School. Arlene married Stanley LeRoy Teal, Sr. on April 16, 1946, in Ontario, WI. He died March 16, 1995. Arlene worked at Burpee Seed Company formerly of Clinton, IA, and was a licensed children"s day care provider. She also served as the Assistant Youth Counselor at the Wisconsin Children"s Center in Sparta, WI, and was a tutor for the Clinton Public School System. Arlene had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton, IA, since 1951 and was active on church boards and committees, including the building committee. She served as a trustee, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. Arlene enjoyed arranging flowers and plants for church services and events. She also served as a Girl Scout leader and Hospice Bereavement Volunteer. Arlene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, bowling, playing card games with friends, flower gardening and arranging flowers. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis St. Ores of Fulton, IL and Pamela Barnett of Rockport, IA; two sons, Stanley (Cindy) Teal of Clinton, IA and James Teal of Tucson, AZ; six grandchildren, Stacie (Jason Farrell) Oliver, Tonya (Shane) Haskell, Shanna (Eric) McArthur, David (Jessie) Teal, Justin (Barbara Gembis) Teal, Caitlyn Teal; six great-grandchildren, Dawson Schultz, Summit Farrell, Blake Haskell, Tanner Haskell, Caleb McArthur, Lila McArthur; two sisters, Maxine Bassett of Laguna Hills, CA and Beverly Oswald of Taylorsville, UT; special friends, Mark and Patsy Mohr of Fulton, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; one son, David Ralph Teal, three grandchildren, Christine, Elizabeth, and Nathan Teal; and one brother, Marion Dickau.
