Obituary for Arlene G. Huizenga
ARLENE G. HUIZENGA, 90, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, IL, formerly of Erie, IL, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at the nursing home. Arlene was born November 10, 1921, in Fulton, IL, to Jacob and Gertrude (Huizenga) VenHuizen. She was educated in the Fulton grade schools. She married Peter F. Huizenga on February 7, 1942 in Lyons, IA. He died on October 12, 1974. Arlene was employed by Swift Company in Clinton, IA and by Liquid Carbonic in Morrison, IL. She was a member of the Newton Zion Reformed Church, Erie, IL, and the church"s Ladies Aid Society. Arlene enjoyed baking, crocheting and sewing. Survivors include one daughter, Judith (Mark) Jacobs of Rock Falls, IL; two sons, Dale (Connie) Huizenga and Robert (Teresa) Huizenga, both of Fenton, IL; nine grandchildren, Jared Jacobs, Heather Valdivia, Randy (Julie) Huizenga, Kelly (Ken) Rottman, Jamie (Shantel) Huizenga, Bill Carter, Paula Carter, Shelby (Matt) Penney, Lee Huizenga; six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; one great grandson, Michael Dale Huizenga; three sisters, Jennie Schaver, Tena Cooper, Clara Groh; eight brothers, Ralph, David, Henry, William, Arthur, Clarence, Isaac and Peter VenHuizen.
