Obituary for Arlena Mae Ottosen
On June 21, 1932 an amazing person, Arlena Mae Ottosen, of Morrison, began her life journey, the earthly portion of which ended, July 22, 2010, at the Morrison Community Hospital. Arlena was the daughter of Robert and Jennie Ruth Fish. She was united in marriage to Jack H. Ottosen on January 1, 1955 at the Christadelphian Church in Marion, Illinois.Arlena was a legal secretary for all of her working years, the last 35 in Morrison with attorneys Russell J. Holesinger and Stephen Deckro. She treated her employment with an unusual dedication, where she thoroughly enjoyed the people with whom she worked and encountered on a daily basis. While she enjoyed many community activities and supporting the local school and community events, she most treasured her church friends and activities at the Morrison United Methodist Church.A devoted wife, mother and grandma, she is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack; her six children: Joel (Nancy) Ottosen of Yorkville, IL; Dale (Marilyn) Ottosen of Auburn, NY; Lee Ann (Kurt) Harper of Downs, IL; Karl (Wendy) Ottosen of Elk Grove, IL; Elaine (Gary) Baker of Liberty, IL and David Ottosen of Morrison; twelve grandchildren: Michael Ottosen, Mandy Wheaton, Jacob & Sarah Ottosen, Danielle & Brent Harper, Brian, Erik, & Kristin Ottosen, Scott, Mark, and Brett Baker; her sisters, Mary Gabriel of Grain Valley, MO and Ursula Richey of Marion, IL; two nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert, in 1935 and mother, Jennie Ruth, in 2005.In her many capacities: mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, legal secretary, and friend, Arlena excelled with kindness, grace, patience, love and smiling brown eyes. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held at the Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, on Tuesday, July 27th at 10:30 AM. Burial service will immediately follow at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 26th, at the Morrison United Methodist Church from 5 to 8 pm.
