Obituary for Ardis A. Willavize
ARDIS A. WILLAVIZE, 84, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison. Ardis was born May 24, 1923 in Madison, Maine to Clifford and Amelia (Osberg) Daggett. She graduated from Madison High School in Madison, ME in 1941. She served in the U.S. Navy WAVES during WWII. She achieved the rank of Yeoman 1st Class and worked in naval communications in Philadelphia, PA, operating a teletype machine. Ardis moved to Morrison in the 1970"s and retired from General Electric in Morrison, after more than 15 years of service. She served as an election judge for Whiteside County for many years, was a past officer of the Local Legion Auxiliary and AARP. She was involved in many volunteer community service activities and was an avid bowler. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Willavize (James Pisarczyk) of East Lyme, CT and Nancy (James) Zalud of Rockford, IL; one son, Stephen Willavize of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren, Heather Hernandez, Holly Mills, Rachael Willavize, Elizabeth Pisarczyk, Catherine Pisarczyk, Amy Zalud, and Robert Zalud; six great grandchildren; one brother, Clifford Daggett, Jr. of Skowhegan, ME; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eleanor Snowden and Irene Foss; two brothers, Harrison and Ronald Daggett.
