Obituary for Annalene Wierema
ANNALENE WIEREMA, 90, of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Fulton Township Cemetery. The family has established memorials to Genesis Hospice and Fulton Presbyterian Church.
Annalene was born November 17, 1929, in Garden Plain Township, IL, to Joe and Jennie (Bush) Haan. She was educated in the East Clinton Grade School and was a 1947 graduate of Fulton High School. On February 17, 1950 she married John W. Wierema in Charleston, SC. He died February 18, 2018. Annalene was first employed at Clinton Garment Factory, and then was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fulton Presbyterian Church, where she was involved with the Lydia Circle. She served as an election judge, was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling. She and her husband John had traveled to all the states, except for Hawaii. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include four daughters, Marsha Norman of Fulton, IL, Carol Schroeder of Helena, MT, Pamela Jackson of Spencer, IA and Lisa (Kelly) Bedusek of Greenfield, WI; four sons, Jeff (Connie) Wierema of Waukegan, IL, Mark (Anastasia) Wierema of Fulton, IL, Mike (Cindy) Wierema of Fulton, IL and Dennis (Chris) Wierema of Clinton, IA; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; two daughters, one in infancy and Janice Marie Wierema; two grandsons, Matthew John Wierema and Robert Bradley Butt III; one sister, Marguerite Davis; four brothers, John, Herman, Paul and Robert Haan.
