Obituary for Annabelle Ann Kettler
ANNABELLE "ANN" KETTLER, 88, of Harbor Crest Home, Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Harbor Crest Home. Ann was born June 14, 1926, in Allegan, MI, to Harold G. and Wavabelle (Reynolds) Arink. She was educated in the Spring Valley Grade School of rural Whiteside County, IL. She was a 1944 graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. Ann received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central College in Pella, IA in 1948. She married Marvin J. Kettler on June 25, 1948, in Woodhull, IL. He died October 19, 1963. Ann was employed as a teacher in the Riverbend Elementary School in Fulton for 33 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, the church"s Mission Circle, and Reformed Church Women"s Ministries. She also served as a member of the Consistory and as a Sunday School and Catechism teacher. Ann enjoyed entertaining friends and the cooking and baking associated with it. She especially enjoyed hosting family "get-togethers". Survivors include one daughter, Joy (Tom) VanZuiden of Fulton IL; one son, Kurt (Marla) Kettler of Pella, IA; four grandchildren, Janet VanZuiden, Dustin (Mindy) VanZuiden, Jennifer (Marty) Schmidt, and Jonathan (Jawnica) Kettler; ten great-grandchildren, Brooke, Bristol, and Ryder VanZuiden; Toby, Lydia, Blythe, and Sophie Schmidt; Isaiah, Owen, and Samuel Kettler; two sisters, Dorothy Myers of Mesa, AZ and Betty (Jim) Thedens of Clear Lake, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; one granddaughter, Jaci Lynn VanZuiden; and one brother, Kenneth Arink.
