Obituary for Anna G. Landheer
ANNA G. LANDHEER, 102, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Four Seasons Living Center in Morrison. Anna was born August 1, 1907, in Dixon, IL, to Bernhard "Ben" and Ida (Meyers) Gerdes. She was educated in the rural schools of Dixon. She married Harry W. Landheer on June 3, 1933 in Sterling, IL. He died February 27, 1981. Anna worked at Sterling Public Hospital before her marriage to Harry. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the Sterling and Morrison areas. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling. Anna enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and word searches. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Leta VanZuiden of Morrison, IL; one son, Richard Landheer of Morrison, IL; two grandchildren, Scott VanZuiden and Todd (Rhonda) VanZuiden; two great grandchildren, Brandon and Bailey VanZuiden, one step grandchild, Mindy (Frank) West; three great step grandchildren; four great great step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; one son-in-law, Merwyn VanZuiden; five sisters: Elizabeth Seagren, Ida Levan, Mattie Ommen, Minnie Levan, Katheryn Schertz; five brothers, Ed, Jacob, Charles, Ben, and George Gerdes.
