Obituary for Andrew "Andy" Bush
ANDREW “ANDY” JOHN BUSH, 35, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling, due to complications of Huntington’s Disease.
His funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. A visitation will be held at the church preceding the funeral, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Mr. Ken Renkes will be officiating; interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Memorials have been established to the Morrison Sportsmen’s Club, the Huntington’s Disease Society of America and UChicago Medicine - Neurology Department.
Andy was born October 19, 1987 in Sterling, IL to Roger Gene and Beth Anne (Baar) Bush. He was a 2006 graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. He had worked as a security guard for Per Mar from 2008 – 2011. Andy was a baptized member of Ebenezer Reformed Church, and was a member of the Morrison Sportsmen’s Club. He took after his grandpa, and enjoyed trapshooting and had won many awards. Andy was very good with strategy – he could solve a Rubik’s Cube, loved doing puzzles, and enjoyed building with Legos and K’Nex. He was an avid gamer, namely Mario Kart tournaments with his family. Growing up he loved spending time with his beagles. Andy was a movie buff and especially enjoyed Star Wars movies and collecting the memorabilia. He was an avid Chicago Bears Fan.
Survivors include his mother, Beth (fiancé Scott Meinsma) Balk of Morrison, IL; two sisters, Rachel Bush of Fulton, IL and Erica (Michael) Wuertzer of Peosta, IA; his maternal grandmother, Neva Baar of Fenton, IL; one niece, Violet Wuertzer; three aunts, Sue Leslie of Clinton, IA, Mary (Kim) Schaefer of Morrison and Shelley (Phil) Harold of DeKalb, IL; two uncles, Steve (Gwen) Baar of Morrison and Ronnie (Linda) Bush of Mendon, IL; many cousins, Tara (Al) Dolmage, Brian (Kelly) Miller, Jennie (Josh) Gowan, Adam (LeAnn) Schaefer, Domini (Jason) Buikema, Ann (Jon) Brackemeyer, Josh Dillon, Taylor Dillon, Amanda (JR) Curtis, Devon (Mallory) Baar, Mitch (Danelle) Baar, Neil Baar, Evan (Emily) Bush, Aaron (Holly) Bush, Alissa Bush.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Bush; his maternal grandfather, Bernie Baar; his paternal grandparents, Clifford and Arlene Bush; one uncle, Doug Leslie.
