Obituary for Alfred Floyd Workman
ALFRED FLOYD WORKMAN, 88, of Freeport, IL, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Liberty Village Manor Court in Freeport. Alfred was born April 17, 1927 in Fulton to Edward and Elizabeth (Post) Workman. He was educated in the Fulton schools. During WWII he served in the U. S. Army. On August 19, 1948, he married Evelyn Louise Houzenga in Thomson, IL. She died on January 7, 2001. On 2005 he married Norma (Nickle) Rhode in Freeport. She died October 27, 2008. Alfred engaged in farming in the Thomson, IL area. Later he worked at the former Clinton Corn Processing Company and McEleney Motors, both in Clinton, IA, retiring in 1988. He was a former member of First Reformed Church in Fulton and a current member of Zion Church in Freeport. A memorial to Zion Church has been established. Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Jack) Bullard of Clinton, IA and Barbara (Chris) Feucht of Lindenhurst, IL; three sons, Dr. Allen (Deborah) Workman, MD of Freeport, IL, Dr. Jerry (Susan) Workman PhD of Leawood, KS and Dr. David (Bonnie) Workman PhD of Naperville, IL; ten grandchildren, Richard (Dina) Hamstra, Charm (Ryan) Gregory, Erin Feucht, Erik (Kim) Feucht, Andrea (Adam) Matz, Kimberly (Charles) Barton, Emily (J.P.) McGinnis, Stephanie Workman, Samantha Workman, Shannon Workman; seven great grandchildren, Jacob and Jonathon Hamstra, Elizabeth and William Matz, Anthony, Juliet and Amelia Barton; one brother, Clarence (Bernice) Workman of Fulton, IL. He was preceded in death by his wives, Evelyn and Norma; one great grandson, David Matz.
A private family funeral service was held at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Fulton, IL. Interment was at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton.
