Obituary for Alan T. Hegwood
ALAN T. HEGWOOD, 59, of Morrison, IL formerly of Terre Haute, IN, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, IL. Alan was born September 29, 1951 in Kewanee, IL, to Dan J. and Glenda (Tracy) Hegwood. He was a 1969 graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison, IL and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1975 from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. Alan married Julie A. Yates on September 8, 1973 in Rockford, IL. He was first employed as an accountant, then in auto and retail sales, then in Information Technology, and most recently taught at Morrison High School. Alan was a member of the Session of the First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, the church choir, the Wabash Valley Barbershop Chorus, the Morrison Music Theater Association, and the Terre Haute Lions Club. He also served as a Boy Scout Leader. Alan enjoyed gardening and tinkering around his home. He was passionate about church music ministry. Survivors include three sons, Dan C. (Jessie) Hegwood and Robert A. (Amy) Hegwood both of Portland, OR and David Hegwood of Terre Haute, IN; one grandson, Liam J. Hegwood; his mother, Glenda Hegwood of Morrison, IL; one sister, Melanie R. (Kurt) Schoenborn of Glen Carbon, IL; and one brother, Jon P. (Patricia) Hegwood of Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan J. Hegwood.
