Obituary for Adele D. Berge
ADELE D. BERGE, 95, of 8998 Dimon Road, Lanark, IL, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Center in Mt. Carroll, IL. Adele was born in Clyde Township " rural Morrison, IL, to Clarence W. and Maggie M. (Kennedy) Beswick. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1927 graduate of Morrison High School. She attended Northern Illinois Teacher"s College in DeKalb, IL. She married Walter D. Berge on Feb 10, 1932 in Morrison. He died on April 12, 1973. Adele taught in the rural Whiteside County School System for several years. She farmed with her late husband in the Morrison area until 1951 when they bought a farm in rural Carroll County. She resided on the farm until July of 2005 when she went to live at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Center in Mt. Carroll. She was a member of the Lanark United Methodist Church, the church"s Hope Circle and the United Methodist Women. She had also served on the church"s administrative board. Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Berge, of Lanark, IL; one sister, Mrs. Phyllis Forth of Chadwick, IL; one brother, DeWitt (Betty) Beswick of Morrison, IL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; one son, Donald W. Berge, in infancy; two brothers, Howard and Thomas Beswick.
