DONALD SEIFERT, 74, of Prophetstown, IL died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at his home.

Don was born on February 28, 1935 in Davis, IL to Florian and Marie (Johnson) Seifert. He was educated in the Lyndon grade schools and graduated from Lyndon High School in 1953 as Valedictorian. He attended the University of Illinois and Bradley University. He married Barbara Williams on March 11, 1955 in Prophetstown, IL. In 1958, Don began working at General Electric in Morrison, IL. He spent a total of 37 years at GE, retiring in 1997. Don was active in the community. He served as Scoutmaster, School Board Member and Methodist Youth Fellowship leader. He was also an avid woodworker with a passion for building furniture for his house, his children and his grandchildren. When he retired, Don remained active helping others. He did volunteer work for King’s Closet in Erie, repairing many items. He was also active for the local food pantry serving as treasurer. In addition to his church treasurer duties, he worked on several church facility improvements.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara; two daughters, Diana (Rick) Schroeder of Johnstown, PA, Darcie (Steve) Omiotek of Troy, MI; three sons, Scott (Maureen) Seifert of Midlothian, VA, Tim (Sara) Seifert of Trumansburg, NY, Brice (Debbie) Seifert of Normal, IL; twelve grandchildren, Betsy, Peter (Megan), Jill, Andy and Brad Schroeder; Ben (Jessica), Josh and Joe Seifert; Jacob and Noah Seifert; Will and Spenser Seifert.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob Seifert.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM, Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church

OFFICIATING: Rev. Insun Yoon – Pastor of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church

VISITATION: 7:00-8:30 PM, Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church and from 10:00 AM Friday, February 5, 2010 until the time of the Memorial Service

CREMATION RITES HAVE BEEN ACCORDED
