Barbara R. Johnson
April 16, 1925 - December 19, 2016
BARBARA R. JOHNSON, 91, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Monday, December 19, 2016 at the nursing home.
Barbara was born on April 16, 1925 in Moline, IL, to Emile J. and Ruth M. (Anderson) Elander. She was educated in the Moline grade schools and was a graduate of Moline High School. On February 2, 1946 she married Lyle L. “Buzz” Johnson in Moline. He died January 6, 2003. Barbara was a cashier at Walgreens Drug Store and also worked as in the bookkeeping department at the Rock Island Arsenal. She was a farmer’s wife and sold grade A milk and eggs. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison. Barbara was a member of the Resthave Auxiliary where she helped to make quilts and, along with her daughters, would help serve meals. She served as a 4H leader and was a superintendent of fine arts and textile at the Morrison County Fair for seven years. She enjoyed water color painting with local artist, Mae Domack, and had a passion for sewing clothing and coats, along with knitting. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading USA Today newspapers. She participated in all the activities at Resthave and also bowled for several years. Her favorite hobby was using her digital camera to take pictures of her family get-togethers and Resthave activities. Memorials to Bethesda Lutheran Church and Resthave Home have been established.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy (Wayne) Thomas of Bradenton, Florida, Mrs. Candy Theobald of West Chicago, IL and Kathleen (Jonas) Steinberg of West Palm Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Krista (Tim) Bollnow and Adam (Lindsey) Steinberg; three great grandchildren, Brodie Bollnow, Kassandra Bollnow and Benjamin Steinberg; one sister, Jacqueline J. Johnson of Tequesta, FL
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Edwin J. Lundstrom; her husband, Lyle; one sister, Mary Jane Voss; one son-in-law, George Theobald; several sisters and brothers-in-law.

VISITATION: THERE WILL BE NO VISITATION. CREMATION RITES HAVE BEEN ACCORDED
