IDA MAY STUART, 94, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the home. Ida May was born January 13, 1918 in Garden Plain Township, IL to Fred and Bertha (Vogel) Boelkens. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. She married James K. Stuart on March 1, 1941 in Morrison, IL. He died November 25, 2005. Ida May farmed along with her late husband, Jim, in the rural Morrison area. She also worked doing private duty house cleaning. Ida May was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church’s choir and Lydian Society. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, gardening, canning, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Thermon (Sara) Stuart of Fulton, IL; six grandchildren, Dan (Cheryl) Stuart, Michael (Maureen) Stuart, Lisa (Kyle) Marten, Julie (Brett) Nicklaus, Kurt (Kerry) Tiesman, and Brian (Dawn) Tiesman; eleven great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; one daughter, Janice Tiesman; one son-in-law, Loren Tiesman; two sisters, Bernice Kooi-Faber and Florence Wiersema; and one brother, Clarence Boelkens.
