HARRIET HOLESINGER, 82, of Morrison, IL formerly of Thomson, IL, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, IL. Harriet was born October 7, 1927 in Morrison, IL, to Henry and Jennie (Housenga) Van Zuiden. She attended Morrison Grade Schools and graduated from Morrison High School. Harriet married Marvin H. Holesinger on December 18, 1946 in Morrison, IL. He died January 30, 2001. She worked as a CNA at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mt. Carroll, IL for many years. She also helped her husband, Marvin, as a grain dealer for 13 years in the Mt. Carroll and Thomson, IL areas. Harriet was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, where she participated in prayer partners. She was a member of the PTA in Thomson, IL, where she was past president. She volunteered for Golden Meals and for the Whiteside County Fair both in Morrison. Harriet was an avid bowler, participating in leagues in Mt. Carroll and Morrison. She enjoyed reading romance novels, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her mother, Jennie Van Zuiden of Morrison, IL; one daughter, Jane (Don) Chambers of Kingston, IL; one son, Dale (Nancy) Holesinger of Camanche, IA; eleven grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter, and one daughter-in-law, Peggy Holesinger of Holland, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Kent and Arlyn Holesinger; and her father, Henry Van Zuiden.
