MARY A. PIERCE, 79, of Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, December 22, 2012, at St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, IL. Mary was born January 17, 1933 in Morrison, IL, to Louis and Jennie (Vos) Geerts. She was educated in the Green Valley Grade School of rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison, IL. Mary married John T. Pierce on April 21, 1953, in Morrison, IL. He died May 23, 1986. Mary was employed by General Electric in Morrison for 5 ½ years and was also employed by the University of Northern Illinois. She worked for 25 years as a rental agent for Lawson Enterprises in Williamsburg, VA. Mary was formerly a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church in Williamsburg, VA and was currently a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church in Morrison, IL. Survivors include two brothers, Robert (Shirley) Geerts of Morrison, IL and Alan (Donna) Geerts of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John. Funeral Information
