KENT J. TAETS, 58, of 308 S. Orange Street, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at University Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, WI. Kent was born December 28, 1951 in Geneseo, IL, to Joseph and Lela B. (Lewis) Taets. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1970 graduate of Morrison High School. Kent married Jill A. Hailstone on February 27, 1988 in Morrison, IL. He was employed as a local and over the road driver for several local trucking companies. Most recently, he was employed as a school bus driver for R.C. Smith Transportation in Morrison, for the past 10 years. Kent drove a school bus route, for vocational school students, and for the Morrison baseball and football teams. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sterling and served as an elder and building fund chairman. He was a member of the Morrison Kiwanis Club and was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan. Survivors include his wife, Jill; one sister, Karen (Aaron) Oostenryk of Morrison, IL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information
