Robert "Dave" Barnard
February 17, 1943 - January 28, 2013
ROBERT “DAVE” BARNARD, 69, of Fenton, IL, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice in Bettendorf, IA.
Dave was born February 17, 1943, in LaGrange, IL, to Hugh T. and Rosa Catherine Barnard. He was a graduate of Bettendorf High School. On April 29, 1978, he married Annette M. Anderson in Moline, IL. She died on December 15, 2006. Dave served his welding apprenticeship and was employed by Alcoa Aluminum in Riverdale, IA for 37 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed carpentry, astronomy, gardening, photography and welding. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, and had converted his Harley Davidson into a trike, which he affectionately termed his “800cc Hoveround”. Those who were fortunate enough to know Dave appreciated his sense of humor.
Survivors include four sisters, Pat (Otto) Wendhausen of LeClaire, IA, B.J. (Jim) Wilson of Galesburg, MI, Peggy Barnard of Bettendorf, IA and Debra Barnard of Davenport, IA; three brothers, Don (Glenda) Barnard of Bloomington, IL, Dale Barnard of Kingston, TN and Dwight Barnard of Davenport, IA; four nieces, Janelle (Guy) Ewoldt, Dana (Ken) Kobold, Fay Barnard and Amanda Barnard; four nephews, Jay (Dawn) Wilson, Ray Wilson, Britt (Theresa) Barnard, Matt (Mandy) Barnard; several great-nieces and nephews; cousins, many friends – including running buddies; four step-children, Shelley, Amber, Sean and Tom Schipper.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Annette.
PRIVATE FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICE: Per Dave’s wishes, private family services will be held.

THERE WILL BE NO VISITATION, THE BOSMA-GIBSON FUNERAL HOME IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS
